The Yakir Israel Yafa Award is bestowed annually by the Council for a Beautiful Israe
l to a leading philanthropist whose inspiring life’s story is intertwined with the destiny of the Jewish people both in Israel and the Diaspora. These prominent candidates have demonstrated their unstinted concern for the welfare of individual citizens and the community at large, and are dedicated to improving awareness of environmental issues and the quality of life in Israel.
The esteemed award – the organization’s highest honor – will be presented to the recipient by the President of the State of Israel, in a special awards ceremony at the President’s Residence. A moving review of the recipient’s life will be among the highlights of the prestigious event.

The Council for a Beautiful Israel is the first and only non-profit environmental organization in Israel to focus on the country's urban centers.
